MEET THE FOUNDER Kamau Chiku-Martinez
Music is my mood
Kamau Chiku-Martinez, a celebrated music artist, entrepreneur, and the driving force behind the Ktone Cares Foundation, brings his vision for a healthier community to life through Therapy in HD. His dedication to leveraging music for healing marks a significant step toward addressing the mental health crisis in our communities.
From his early teens, KTone has carved out an illustrious career that spans music, mixshows, podcasts, and entrepreneurial endeavors. His journey is not just about his musical accomplishments but also his profound engagement with the community through the Ktone Cares Foundation. Here, he dedicates himself to youth programs and mentorship, aiming to pave the way for the next generation's success.
KTone's path to launching Therapy in HD is deeply personal, stemming from his own mental health struggles after a difficult divorce—a challenge that led him to explore therapy for the first time. This initiative is also a reflection of his teenage years, shadowed by the loss of peers to violence, leaving lasting impacts on his mental well-being.
Furthermore, KTone's desire for healing and understanding in his relationship with his father significantly influenced the conception of Therapy in HD. It's envisioned as a means of healing through music's universal power, addressing both personal and communal needs for closure and growth.
